Rainbow for SuperKids!

Last week we learned the letter Rr. For Super Kid Treat, we made Rainbow fruit kabobs. We talked about the colors of the rainbow and learned the acronym to help us remember the order the colors appear in a rainbow.

R - red
O - orange
Y - yellow
G - green
B - blue
I - indigo
V - violet
ROY G BIV
We also learned that violet is another word for purple.  In Kindergarten, we say purple. (We actually also left out indigo.  It's a color we have not discussed, and I couldn't find a fruit that was indigo:))
We made our fruit kabobs with red strawberries, orange cantaloupe, yellow pineapple, followed by green grapes, blue blueberries, and last purple (violet) grapes.  The kids seemed to enjoy talking about the colors of the rainbow and making and, of course, EATING, their fruit kabobs.
